What’s new in Retime: an assistant in your dashboard, and a faster booking page

October brought an assistant inside the Retime dashboard, one-tap Google sign-in, a booking page that finds free times in a tenth of a second, and fixes for calendar sync and time display.

Rنوشته‌ی Retime team

Last month we put Retime inside your AI assistant. This month we put an assistant inside Retime, and made everything around it faster.

An assistant in your dashboard

Open the dashboard and press Ask Ava, or Ctrl + /. The assistant can read your account and act on it. Ask what you have today or where your free slots are, or tell it to create a Google Meet link, move a meeting, or invite a teammate.

  • Nothing changes until you confirm. Before it books, moves, cancels, creates or edits anything, the assistant shows a card with exactly what will happen. You press Confirm or Not now.
  • Text from other people can’t steer it. If a suggestion follows text a guest wrote, the card says so. If that text looks like instructions aimed at the assistant, no card is issued.

Sign in with one tap

If you are signed in to Google in your browser, the login and signup pages show Google’s One Tap prompt. One Tap joins an existing Retime account only when Google can vouch for the email address (a Gmail address or a Google Workspace domain). For any other address, sign in with your password.

Free times in a tenth of a second

On a busy account, the booking page took about 4.4 seconds to work out free times. It now takes 0.08 seconds.

  • Every user-facing API endpoint we measured is 30% to 98% faster.
  • The dashboard loads 21% to 29% less JavaScript on first visit, on the booking page, login and signup, and links page.
  • On a slow phone connection, the website home page paints its main content in half a second instead of a second and a half, with 40% less data.

A booked slot disappears from your other links

Before, a slot booked on one link stayed on your hosts’ other links until cached availability expired, and a guest who picked it got an error. Retime now refreshes every active link the hosts share right after a booking.

Times shown the way you set them

The booking confirmation page now shows 24-hour times and the time zone they are in. Before, a 13:30 booking read as 01:30. Event details in the dashboard follow your time-format setting.

Calendar sync fix

An event without its own time zone, which Google sends when it uses the calendar’s default, no longer stops the sync of the whole calendar.

Smaller improvements

  • The login page no longer sends repeated API requests for an account that is not signed in.
  • If part of the dashboard fails to download after a new release, it retries and shows a retry button instead of a blank space.

Create your Retime account and ask the assistant what your week looks like.
